In the vale of love

I will defy her silver and gold,

The splendours of her body

Hid in diaphanous robes —

And she shall not lure me

With her majesty.

In the vale of love

I will conquer and destroy her palace;

Her courtiers shall run

Before my sword.

In the vale of love

I will shred all her lies,

Her senseless cooings of love

I shall despise.

And into her face I’ll

Spit defiance.
