Tell my why

You don’t shiver

When the sea breaks

When the wind howls?

Don’t you see

The storms raging

In the winds

That drive the clouds

Across the sea?

Don’t you fear

The magma-flows

That turn the earth’s crust,

The molten essence

Of nature’s wrath,

The burning ire

Of the Titan’s hand

That holds the world?

Did you never

Look into the void

That spans from star to star?

But man does need

That blind eye’s rest

Which keeps the world

From turning upside down.
