Rising up to heaven

Spirits mingle in a revolving dance:

Socializing, dreamlike

Around glittering idols;

Praying together in a frenzy.

I’m down here: wishing,

Shedding masks like garments,

Garments of flimsy substance;

Arguing over obviously useless concepts —

Withered away like flowers, neglected.

Somewhere, silver tears are falling —

A clown’s laugh won’t help;

Somewhere, dreamstates need fixing —

Believing won’t change a thing.
